Lions fake out Fairview Yellow Jackets, win 35-20

DSC_0070The CHS Lions won a big district game at Wright Field over the Fairview Yellow Jackets 35-20. A fake punt in the 4th sealed the victory for the Lions over a highly touted Fairview team.

The 2014 captains, Wes Blow, Gavin Miller, Seth Wood and Sele Martinez met the refs and the Fairview (FV) captains at midfield. The visitors guessed wrong & the Lions deferred until the 2nd half. Trent Riley sent a high back spinning kick to the 20 & the 2014 season was rollin’! Gavin met the returner at the 32 & the Lions defense was on the field. The ‘jackets line up with quads right in a bubble, but Seth was not impressed & tackled their QB after a gain of only two. They string together a 9-play drive with a little help from a couple offside penalties & miss the field goal attempt right. 6:40 left on the 1st quarter clock, Lions ball.
