Lions drop one to Huntingdon 28-14

The Lions lost at Huntingdon in a non-District game. The Lions return to District action at Centerville next Friday night. Hickman County defeated Lewis County & will be flying high at home. Time for a big road win! GO LIONS!

Lions over Panthers 40-22

DSC_0043The CHS Lions defeated the Lewis County Panthers 40-22 in a big district 11AA win at Wright Field to stay undefeated for the 2014 season. Camden blew apart the 2nd quarter to score 20 and were able to match the Panthers scores late to seal the victory. Remember, the Panthers beat the Lions twice last season; the 2nd to knock them out of the State Playoffs…

Both sides of Wright Field were stuffed full of excited fans ready to find out which undefeated team was ready to play. The CHS game captains, Jacob Maraman, Trevor Gianonni, Trent Riley and Kentrell Hudson met the refs and the Lewis County (LC) caps in the middle. Coin in the air, the Panthers guess right & defer to the 2nd half. The Lions spirit line stretches all the ‘way to the 45; there is a playoff atmosphere all over as the stands give a big cheer & the Lions are in the house!

Lions Defeat East Hickman 17 – 7

DSC_0090Friday night the 12th of September, the Lions traveled South to East Hickman High for a District 11AA contest. The temperatures were that of a typical “pre-fall” night which seemed to chill the teams as well as the fans.

The Lions amassed 18 first downs to East’s 8 with 338 rushing and 68 passing yards to the Eagle’s 91 and 57 respectively. Deshawn Brown had a great night with 260 rushing yards contributing 2 touchdowns. Wes Blow threw for 68 yards on 4 for 9 attempts . Most of those were to Chris Richard, 59 yards in 3 catches. Defensive stand outs were Dalton Whitfield with 6 tackles and Seth Wood with 8.

Lions defeat Indians 33-19

DSC_0030The Camden Lions found the plays they needed to defeat the Montgomery Central Indians 33-19 at Wright Field. The win was another District 11AA victory for the 2014 Lions. Deshawn Brown had a huge night with 11 carries for 210 yards & a kickoff return for a score to get the young Lions on the field for part of the 3rd and all of the fourth quarter.

Congrats to the Lions for the 2014 Homecoming win…and to the Homecoming Queen Raegan Taylor, 1st maid Jordan Mitchell and 2nd maid Katie Jo Whitfield on their big night!
