Lion Basketball Underway

Camden Lion basketball is underway…both the Lady Lions and Lions are off to fast starts…the Lady Lions are 2-1 as of the date of Nov. 20, their only loss coming at West Carroll on a last second shot by the Lady Eagles. The boys are undefeated @ 3-0. Both the girls and the boys were victorious on Tuesday night in Big Sandy… The Lions next game will be on Nov. 26 as the Lions open up district play against Montgomery Central @ home…That particular night the Camden games will be broadcast live on THE CATFISH 99.7. The Huntingdon vs. Big Sandy games will be broadcast on 95.9 that evening. See ya at the gym! And catch the broadcasts all season long on WRJB 95.9 and THE CATFISH 99.7!!!

Lions lose to Panthers, finish season 7-5

DSC_0019The Camden Lions couldn’t bring a road playoff win back from Hohenwald Friday night, as an undefeated Lewis County team pushed ahead in the 2nd half to win 32-20. The Lions finish the 2013 season 7-5, while the undefeated Panthers will face a visit from a streaking Westview team next Friday. After a late score and successful 2-point conversion play gave the homers a 15-7 lead right at the half, the Lions never got closer.

Lions top Tigers 35-13

10The Camden Lions defeated the Manassas Tigers 35-13 at Wright Field tonight to advance to the second round of the TSSAA state playoffs. Camden blew up the second quarter with three scores to push the halftime score out to 21-7. The breathing room was appreciated by the Lion faithful that braved the cold night to cheer their team on.

Lions Defeat Creek Wood Red Hawks

1Friday November first the Creek Wood Red Hawks made their way into Lions territory. At stake was home field advantage for the first round playoffs. It was also Senior night for the Lions and 29 seniors and their parents were honored prior to game time.

In the first quarter the Lions gave up on downs with 10:10 left. The Red Hawks failed to get the required yardage and punted away with 7:34 left. The Lions had to punt with 5:58 left in the quarter. Three tries for the Red Hawks and was once again booted to the Lions. Tra Webster took the punt down 68 yards for a TD!!!!!! Wes Blow throws to Cameron Smith after broken play for the two…… 8 – 0 for the lions. Tra is on his way for some extreme numbers, so be sure to pay attention.

The Camden Lions beat up on the Creek Wood Red Hawks 41-12 on Senior Night!

logoThe Lions scored early & often to distance the ‘hawks. Tra Webster paced the Lions with 5 catches for 136 yards and 2 TD’s! Christian Vick added in 96 yards on 10 carries, while the defense chipped in 3 picks on the night!

The Lions will find out about the playoff picture Saturday morning, it could be a visit to Wright Field by the Manassas Tigers, stay tuned!
