Lady Lions roar past Riverside to District title!

The Lady Lions solidly defeated the Riverside Lady Panthers last Friday night in the District 11AA Championship game, 57-34. The Lady Lions sealed a great night by bringing home the gold, as seven members of the team were honored with All-tournament and All-district awards.

The Lady Lions hit the floor hustling and were focused on not letting Riverside get into the game early. Camden pressed from the first possession on, and it resulted in 17 steals! Camden led 26-8 after one, and the rout was on. The Camden bench continued the pressure, as the Lady Lions pushed the ball down the floor and pressed relentlessly on defense. Brittany Berry drained a three from deep in the left corner to make it 36-14 at the half. The Lady Lions were tireless on defense in the third period, and Head Coach Karen Cox substituted freely in the fourth. Camden cruised to a 23 point victory for the District 11AA title, 57-34. A Lady Lions District Championship was last won in 1992! Congratulations to Coach Karen Cox and all of the members of the Lady Lions team!
